So, do you own both the MOV and 1st press and compared them back to back?
|

Really wish for a vinyl cut of this one. Nonetheless a great album.

Tempted but I'll just stick with my original. The digital remaster tracks definitely sound crisper and louder than the original tracks (vinyl or digital) and have a bit better separation to the layers, added depth to the soundstage - though I can't...

Why are there so many of these for sale and not a single image uploaded to the release??
Do your job people. You want to sell, great - but *contribute*. |

Please no. Can we let the colored vinyl obsession die.

This press sounds RIDICULOUSLY good. Leave it to the meticulous nature of these guys to deliver a release of this quality. HUGE sound on both discs... flat and silent as a surface-noise mouse. Just awesome. Mine is from the box set. Outstanding!

Great cover art. Great presses at first glance. I've only listened to the first disc of "Hungry Ghosts" (pink marbled) and it sounds fantastic. The double-disc, at least in the case of this first album I've heard, leaves a ton of room in the dead-wax...

I'll answer my own question. Yes. They are the same covers.

Great sounding pressing. Glad to have this on the shelf - it's been one of my holiday favorites since it came out.

I don't really care. I don't "collect" per se - I buy LPs to listen to. If one happens to be worth something down the road, so be it, if I ever want to part with it. But I'm incredibly selective about what takes up space on the shelf these days. A...

bozbro "A seller"?? What seller? Where are you getting this information?
|

I've heard or read nothing about an included poster. My local record shop had one on hold for the better part of the week for me and they're good people. No poster with mine.

Sounds great. Flat and quiet. Great dynamics. I usually avoid colored vinyl releases but this one doesn't suffer. Excellent pressings. Love the gatefold photo collages calling back to McCartney's first album.

This cut is absolutely stellar. STELLAR. Dynamic, deep, crisp.... everything you want in this sort of release. The pressing is flat and noiseless. The artwork is fantastic quality. If they'd included poly-lined inner sleeves and FLAC digi downloads...

Quite honestly, this album is my second favorite of the series. What I wouldn't give for a copy of this one too on wax. Dear Ben: pretty please.
|

Bit of wavy going on in my copy as well, but doesn't affect the SQ in the least. Gonna have to state mine is as many other - sounds outstanding. This one can't *not* be on the shelf. Period.

I've had the original 45rpm since release but I've considered bagging it for this one for no other reason than I adore well cut single disc releases when they're done right. And though the 2xLP sound quite good i wouldn't say it's anything special,...

FWIW, the original album is only 49 minutes runtime. The original vinyl release was indeed 2xLP, but it was 45RPM (I have that one), and those versions are still everywhere for rather cheap all things considered. That said, having never heard this...

So many reviews about warpage and surface noise.... standard GZ fare by the sound of it. I'm genuinely curious about the fidelity though. I'm assuming this is the remaster from '02 cut to vinyl, or did Memphis actually rework it for this release. One...

In my opinion, I tend to take the ST first album along with Sun Giant almost as a single work, and in that case I think it is better by a bit. But I hear you barking. :)
|
![]() |
That's heartbreaking. I'd bet you might write to Subpop and ask for a replacement. They're good folks.
Truth be told, when I picked this up years ago I actually had no idea that Sun Giant was even there. In fact it was like a year before we figured it... See full review |

LMFAO. No one needs this soundtrack on wax at these prices, particularly a pressing of this average-at-best quality (Rainbo is not known for excellence) that is nothing more than a collecting piece. If it's the music you're after, it's available...

100% agreed. The entire runtime is ONLY just a tick over 42 minutes! There is nothing bass-heavy or loud in this entire OST. If it were mastered well for a vinyl cut to a single 33 1/3 disc, it'd sound just fine. Unnecessary double-LP releases...

Requisite WTF....? All that for one star? Who are you anyhow? Your seller's link is a "Burning Man Countdown"? Now it *is* all starting to make sense.
Putting this in the context of '97 is a very different exercise trying to determine where they might... See full review |

On the one hand it's a fairly cheaply available 2xLP 45rpm release. On the other hand it's green vinyl (for whatever reason), and sounds just like the CD.... that's good or bad depending on your feelings. I've heard far worse digital transfers, but...

In what way? Everyone knows the MoV version is good. "Better" doesn't make any comparison. If you have both then how do they differ?

This is available on his site for $50 plus shipping.

Great sounding pressing - crunchy and very present guitars, nice deep and tight bass, great high extension. Excellent repress of my ongoing still-most-favorite Pixies LP. Smooth edges on the disc, hardly any surface noise anywhere, heavy-weight 180g,...

I've had plenty of bad luck with colored pressings... far more so than plain black. Colored is softer and seems to be the "value add" a label will use to market a pressing when no other additional attention has been given to the master/cut. I...

Seems to be the case. It's a bit of a shame.

Like I said, it's listenable and good enough for the novelty factor but if you're after sound quality, this ain't it.
This was a gift for my lady so we'll keep it because it is cool looking but I generally just avoid pic discs. |

Still? Just.
Assuming the flipoffers haven't cleared their respective shelves. What a sad life. |

Four days later and I've got a copy. Can't believe no one has commented on this one. PNW late 90s CLASSIC. Such a good show these guys put on. This pressing is absolutely stellar. HUGE sound like I've never heard this thing. Crisp and lovely highs,...

Sounds exactly like a description of the CD - bass was boomy there and a little mid-thin. Tells me this was just a slightly lazy digital transfer cut.
But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna buy it. |

Really wish he'd release these early recordings again, properly. They deserve to be out there for people to hear.

A common problem and too many represses these days. That's too bad.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???? Holy crap! How does this one sound??? Anyone? Bueller?
|

No reviews on this cut yet? That's really odd..... Anyone?
|

It's a full album of early Soundgarden tracks; of course it's cut quiet, because physics.

FANTASTIC pressing. Jacket is great quality, discs are clean and flat, dead silent as far as surface garbage, great sounding cut, even comes with good poly sleeves. Aces.

I call b.s.. The press is the same cut as the regular LP edition, full length, excellent quality, silent and flat. The 2nd LP is the additional demos/bonus tracks and not enough to necessarily fill a full LP unless i was mastered and cut differently...

Mine finally arrived. I have to concur.... this is the best this album has ever sounded.
I played Three Days three times in a row, louder each time until at near ear-bleed volume, and nearly lost my mind. Fantastic, dead-quiet pressing. I stay the... See full review |

Target, of all places, is selling this right now for just under $23 USD. You're welcome.

I had to come back and say a few more words about this album... I think plenty of folks have picked this up and plenty of them like what they hear, but I don't think many (not enough) have picked up the actual CD or the LP and really taken it in....

This pressing puts the Sonic pressing to absolute SHAME. This cut has got shove, crisp highs, punchy deep bass. LOVING this album like I never had in the past. My copy is dirty as hell and needs a couple cleaning, but it's in good shape otherwise and...

"SAE Mastering" (Seibel Audio Engineering) stamp on all 4 sides but no notes as to pressing locations. It *FEELS* like an RTI press to me, but that's based on nothing but the finish of the final product and the fact that a number of SAE masters of... See full review |
